Informal Meeting of the OECD Education Ministers
26 Ministers met on 2-3 October 2013 in Istanbul, Turkey on the theme: “Fostering Skills and Employability Through Education.” The Chair’s summary stressed the need for effective skills policies to provide communities, institutions and infrastructure with greater flexibility, intelligence and responsiveness to rapid economic and social changes.

Thomas J. Alexander Fellowship
The new call for proposals for the Thomas J. Alexander Fellowship will open from 25 October to 20 December 2013. The programme supports individuals in conducting quantitative, evidence-based research on education, particularly in emerging economies with funding for up to one year, including time spent at the OECD headquarters in Paris.
